PISA

Your shore excursion begins with a leisurely drive through the enchanting Tuscan countryside to your first destination.

Pisa is one of the most well recognized Italian town for its iconic “Leaning Tower” that is regarded as one of Italy’s most famous sites and visitor attractions.  

Upon arriving in Pisa, you will have opportunity to stroll through the fabulous  Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of the Miracles), one of the most impressive Romanesque architectural complexes in the world where Pisa’s sacred monuments are located: Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and also Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery).  

Piazza dei Miracoli and its imposing religious monuments were declared a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1987.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa offers fun and delightful photo opportunities sites as thousands of people pose propping up the precariously tilting tower. So don’t forget to bring your cameras and be creative on your photo shoots in Pisa!

LUCCA

From Pisa your journey continues with a drive further into Tuscany to your next destination: Lucca.

Lucca is delightful medieval town located on a plateau at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is surrounded by imposing Renaissance era city walls that not only are still remarkably intact, but have been transformed into a pedestrian promenade. Its flat location makes Lucca an ideal Tuscan town for relaxed walks and bicycle rides on spacious streets that limit vehicle traffic.

Lucca’s palaces, churches, towers, remarkable squares, and ancient Roman monuments showcase Lucca’s extensive history that goes back prior to Ancient Rome.

Vestiges of Ancient Rome are evident the moment you arrive in the lively Piazza dell’ Anfieatro, the elliptical square whose ring of charming warm toned asymmetric buildings outline the perimeter of the 2nd century AD Roman amphitheater that once stood here. Remains of this ancient amphitheater are still visible in the walls of medieval buildings that were constructed right into the ancient structure.

The streets and alleys of Lucca are lined with shops of all varieties offering visitors ample opportunities to shop, admire historic medieval buildings and fine Renaissance architecture, and enjoy the relaxing local atmosphere that makes Lucca such a charming town to visit.

Lucca is also renown for its superb restaurants. Lunch is delicious at any restaurant in Lucca, as Tuscans take huge pride in their culinary mastery.

From Lucca you will enjoy a relaxing drive through the Tuscan countryside back to your cruise ship in Livorno.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We kindly ask that cancellations be made via E-mail at least 7 days prior to Date of Service. 

Cancellations are accepted only via E-mail so your cancellation is on record. We do not accept cancellations by phone, text message, or 3rd parties.

** Cancelations for PREPAID SERVICES will be refunded the Reduced Net Rate we receive from your prepayment.  Reduced Net Rate: actual service price minus PayPal/Credit Card fees retained by PayPal/Credit Card as they do not reimburse us the fees they retain from your payment.

PISA VISIT

To make the most of your tour and have time to enjoy as much of Florence as possible, this tour does NOT include a climb on top of the Leaning Tower.  If you prefer to climb on top of the Leaning Tower please let us know so we include this request in your tour records, and you would be required to purchase advance tickets and reduce the time you would otherwise spend enjoying Lucca.

YOUR PRIVATE TOUR DRIVER

This tour provides an English speaking Private Driver who is not a Licensed Tour Guide.

Italian laws permit only Licensed Tour Guides to accompany guests away from the vehicle to sightsee on foot.  To be in compliance with the laws, your driver will be obligated to remain with the vehicle while you are sightseeing.

On this tour you will SELF TOUR on foot when away from the vehicle.

DRIVER MEETING POINT AT LIVORNO PORT
