POSITANO

Ancient legends tell of this seaside town being named after the Greek mythological sea god Poseidon. Positano has always been a favorite city for Romans - ancient and modern day. 

Positano grew from a small fishing village to a top international destination attracting visitors to its sunny beaches, stunning cliffs, lemon groves, historic sites, boutiques and restaurants that entice you with local styles and flavors.

Steep flights of stairs lead to various charming alleys and neighborhoods of this vertical cliffside town that beckons to be explored.

SORRENTO

Sweeping sea views, plunging cliffs, fragrant lemons and delicious Sorrentine pizza are just some of the treats that welcome visitors when they arrive to Sorrento.

This charming seaside town will charm you with it’s warm sun kissed buildings that line the narrow streets, alleys flanked by local shops that entice you with lovely handcrafted crafted ceramics and laceworks, and local treats like limoncello.

Sorrento is an ideal place to enjoy a delicious local lunch - the fresh local seafood and Sorrento style pizza are legendary!

 HERCULANEUM

Located in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum takes its name from the Greek hero Heracles (Hercules in Roman mythology) as ancient inhabitants of Greek origins believed Heracles / Hercules was the founder of the town and Mount Vesuvius. 

Along with Pompeii, Herculaneum was destroyed in 79 AD by volcanic pyroclastic flows when the massive Mount Vesuvius erupted, and left buried for centuries under about 20 meters of ash.

Unlike Pompeii that was covered with volcanic ash, the super hot pyroclastic material that covered Herculaneum carbonized and preserved perishable objects such as food, and wood on roofs, bed and doors. This resulted in more frescoes and mosaics that can be admired in preserved buildings like in the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, and the Villa of the Papyri.

Although smaller than Pompeii, the town of Herculaneum was wealthier with far more lavish homes so visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the ancient remains of lavish buildings, frescoes and mosaics. As Herculaneum is much smaller than Pompeii and less crowded, visitors  have the opportunity to explore most of the site on a single visit which is impossible to do in Pompeii on limited time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We kindly ask that cancellations be made by E-mail at least 7 days prior to Date of Tour. 

Cancellations are accepted only via E-mail so your cancellation is on record. We do not accept cancellations by phone, text message, or 3rd parties.

** Cancelations for PREPAID SERVICES will be refunded the Net Rate we receive from your prepayment.  Net Rate: actual service price minus PayPal/Credit Card fees retained by PayPal/Credit Card as they do not reimburse us the fees they retain from your payment.

YOUR PRIVATE TOUR DRIVER

This Tour provides an English speaking Private Driver who is NOT a Licensed Tour Guide.

Italy enforces stringent laws and regulations to protect official licensed guides that make it unlawful for Drivers to act as a tour guide, therefore your private Driver cannot accompany gueests to sightsee on foot away from the vehicle.  

On this tour you will SELF TOUR the attractions you visit, unaccompanied by your driver.

**  The windy and traffic prone roads in Naples, Sorrento and Positano require the Driver's full attention, therefore your driver will not engage in commentary when it is considered an unsafe distraction to do so. Your safety inside the vehicle is out utmost priority.

WHERE TO MEET YOUR DRIVER AT THE PORT OF NAPLES

The port of Naples requires ship passengers to make their way to where the Taxi area, which is the only place vehicles are permitted to park and for drivers to wait for their clients. Your driver will be standing next to his or her vehicle, holding a sign with the NAME in the reservation.

WHERE TO MEET YOUR DRIVER AT SALERNO PORT

The Port of Salerno is small,  your driver will meet you at the Dock where your ship arrives.

In case a visit to Positano is not possible, your visit to Herculaneum and/or Sorrento will be extended pending on when closure information is made available to us.

* On summer weekends, national holidays, and the month of August there may be unexpected traffic delays due to the popularity of Amalfi Coast among Italians and Europeans traveling by car. Please be prepared in event of extensive traffic if you wish to book your tour during these times.
